Let me start by introducing myself, I’m Anthony Lujan and I am a photographer. I’m a photographer who lives in Southern California. I am someone who specializes in photographing people just like you, during your most special stages in life!

I specialize in all types of photography like: Individual, Family, Wedding, Maternity, Newborn, Children, Pet and even Travel photography.

The purpose for my update is to provide you with latest happenings from my professional and personal life. This includes photographs from my clients photography sessions, places I’ve traveled and includes family and friends.

With this being said, let me begin.

{Flower Friday}

I’ve started a new series called Flower Friday. Every Friday I have a new flower highlighted on my blog. This week is Series #4.

Feature of the month: {Engagement}

In August I photographed happy couple Steve and Charlene. Steve and Charlene are engaged and getting married the first week in October in San Luis Obispo. Labor Day: How it Came About

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City, in accordance with the plans of the Central Labor Union. The Central Labor Union held its second Labor Day holiday just a year later, on September 5, 1883.

In 1884 the first Monday in September was selected as the holiday, as originally proposed, and the Central Labor Union urged similar organizations in other cities to follow the example of New York and celebrate a “workingmen’s holiday” on that date. The idea spread with the growth of labor organizations, and in 1885 Labor Day was celebrated in many industrial centers of the country.

Steve & Charlene {Engagement}

A few weeks ago I had a great engagement session with Steve and Charlene. You might remember their “Sneak Peak”.

We met in Redondo Beach where they used to live.

I also found out that is the place where Steve proposed to Charlene.

Then we strolled around the streets a bit.

I kept picking spots that had some texture. Below was an awesome astro turf wall.

After Redondo Beach we went to the place where they met, their work.

They happen to work for a beautiful golf course.

Steve and Charlene changed so they could hit a few balls. But first I found this great area.

A few swings just for the camera…lol

I think this is the only photograph they have in a golf cart.

We ended the session with them looking out to their future together.

Steve and Charlene, I look forward to seeing you again in October for your wedding.
I know we’ll have a lot more fun and stories to tell. Thanks again for allowing me to do what I love!

Caiden’s 1st Birthday Party {Event}

Few weeks back I had the pleasure taking part of Caiden’s 1st Birthday Party. Proud parents Robert and Debbie knew it was going to be a very busy day full of family and friends and 20 kids running around that they might miss some photo opps. So they hired me to photograph the day. It was such a blast! When do you see kids having the most fun; when you mix sugar and comedy! :+)

Before I begin you might of seen Caiden before as he has been a client of mine since he was a a few months old. I had the honor of photographing his Newborn Session and the Family’s Holiday Session and now his 1st Birthday Party. We are scheduling his 1 year photography session. So don’t worry, you’ll see this bundle of joy a few more times in the near future.

But for now, let me share the festivities with you all.

Message from San Diego Zoo {Published Work}

After going to San Diego’s Wild Animal Park for the first time in 2006 I fell in love with the place. I even bought a year pass.

On November 22, 2006 to started a group on Flickr called Wild Animal Park. At that time there was no such group. What started out with one member (me) quickly grew to 50, then 100, then 250 and now over 375 members in the group.

Since the group grew it caught the eye of the park. So Matt Steele the Social Media Planner from the park contact me in July. Here’s his message.

Hey Anthony,

I saw that you’re the admin for the Wild Animal Park Group, and I’m very impressed with the content you’ve created and solicited, and how much you’ve grown the group. I have to share a sneak peak with you from an individual photography session with Kacey this morning. I was not the primary photographer as I piggy back with a great friend/photographer Kevan. He invited me with the model’s permission. I’m so glad as Kacey is a great model who is going to be going places!

Rusty’s Haircut {Personal}

So a few weeks ago I gave my little boy Rusty a haircut! Well I used my hand and scissors thinking I could do a darn good job. Well I sucked at it! This poor little guy looked all chopped up!

So today out of guilt, I took him to the groomer and had him professionally groomed. They also cleaned his ears, cut his nails and they filed down his pads.

So now my little guy looks happy as can be! This Sunday he’ll be 17 weeks old. I bought a new toy for him for being a good boy at the groomers, which I didn’t photograph. Oh boy I’m slipping up!

I love side profiles of dogs!

They trimmed his backside, They did a much better than I could ever do! I’m always afraid that I’m gonna nick something!

Look at his funny face!

How can you not love me????

If you won’t, I’m gonna lick you until you do!

You guys make me happy when you come and visit my page!

As you can see he’s getting bigger and longer. He is still as handsome as when I fell in love with him. I remember the first time I saw him and said he is mine!
