“Olivia” Newborn Session

You might remember Josh and Megan’s maternity session. Well last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing their newborn baby girl Olivia! Olivia was born on 6/15 making her 13 days old when I photographed her. As you will shortly see that she is so very precious.

LOVE #1 and #4! Excellent job, Anthony! Bean bags are helpful with the newborns. If she were mine I would have #4 on canvas!

In this blog entry I’m going to walk you through my day 7 in Puerto Maldonado on my way to Posada Amazonas.

Let’s begin. Saturday, May 17, 2008 Day 7 – Flying to Puerto Maldonado, boat ride to Posada Amazonas

The morning begins with me finishing packing my hotel room in Cusco and getting ready to head to the airport so I could fly to Posada Amazonas. Just the thought of flying to the Amazon is exciting to me still to this date. It’s a point in my life I’m proud to experience. If you couldn’t tell, I really do love nature. The funny thing, I love nature but what I’m about to experience is nothing short then a raw experience. When I booked my trip I was going to orginally visit Lake Titicaca. But I had the option to book the Amazon instead. I thought I would be adventurous as it would give me the chance to see wild life. As you’ll learn the jungle could be very “unpredicable”.

As my plane flies over the Amazon floor I couldn’t help notice the shadow from the puffy clouds on the ground.

To get to Puerto Maldonado you’ll need to fly from Lima or Cusco. Takes about 90 minutes.

I’ve never been in such a small airport. It was something I’ve only seen in the movies. Puerto Maldonado only has two terminals.

I especially loved this day that you shared with us. There sure was so much to see there. Isn’t it strange how their daily lives are so different than ours?

Great photo journalism. It helps to “be there” with you as your story unfolded.

Newborn Session with Gracen

Everyone meet Gracen! She’s one bundle of joy! She’s the child to Ron & Malisa who you’ve all met for their “Family” session.

As you remember a friend of mine Neepa referred me to photograph the family.

Maternity Session with Chrissy & Ron {Maternity}

Everyone meet Chrissy, Ron and their three year old son Ian. I had a blast photographing the family for their maternity session on 6/13/09. They were referred by Bryan and Fabi who you might remember from their maternity and newborn session.

Since I’m a mobile photographer, we decided I’d come to their home for the session. I tend to photograph a lot during my sessions so breaks and snack times are needed and nothing is better then resting in the comfort of your own home.

Chrissy is a beautiful red head who has lots of curls which I love! It reminds me of my days as a hair stylist.

Ron is a great guy. I love how he’s glowing knowing he’s having a baby girl. View full post »

Tuesday, May 20, 2008 Day 10 – Airfare One Way Puerto Maldonado to Lima then Lima to LAX

In this blog entry I’m going to walk you through my day 6 in Peru Cusco City with a City and Ruins Tour.

Let’s begin Friday, May 16, 2008 Day 6 – Tour City & Ruins Tour

As you can imagine a trip full of tours can be a bit overwhelming! Thursday night I felt exhausted and really had enough of tours and ruins. I guess my body had enough. So Thursday evening after dinner I decided to call my tour company and cancel the City and Ruins Tour.

Friday morning I woke at 10 am after a restful night sleep. I straitened my hotel room and got things semi packed for my next adventure to the Amazon Jungle. I went through the gifts I purchased at the Pisac Market and noticed I didn’t buy enough Serpentine bracelets for the ladies in my life. So now the hunt was on trying to find more.

I spent half the morning running around in every gift shop trying to find the exact match of bracelet. I found a couple but not the amount I needed. So after a long and exhausted try I decided to purchase similar bracelets but different stones. This day was suppose to be an easy going one but turned out to be exhausting as I ran out of time and only had this day left to make my purchases.

The rest of my day I organized my photographs and uploaded a few to my Flickr stream so my family and friends could view the places and people I’ve seen and met.

When I did my research before booking my trip to Peru, I looked at many photographs of Cusco. A few photographs I wanted to capture myself. I photographed Cusco plenty in the day time when I arrived and now I wanted to photograph Cusco at night.

anthonylujanphotography-travelphotography2009_05_23-1

I love the center of Cusco as it has so much spark. Below I wanted to photograph the fountain, the shops and the people who come out to rest or stroll through the main square. I’ve photographed the center during the day, now I wanted to capture it at night.

I had some fun below. I set my shutter on 1/20 to capture no visible cars but captured their headlights as the drove past me. View full post »
