Let’s begin:

This is a very sad day indeed. It was the end of my excursion to Peru. In a few short hours I will be walking the final walk out of the Amazon Jungle, board the boat taking my last trip down the Infierno River. Then I’m going to board the plane in Puerto Maldonado where I’ll fly to Lima. From Lima I’m going to sleep a couple of hours at Carmel Hotel before I board my plane which is going to take me home to LAX.

I’ve met some great people in Peru. First of all I met Keith and Sharon. Husband and wife for many years. They were very kind to me. We had many laughs along the way.

I could never forget the English sisters. Every night as I try to tuck myself into bed so the bugs or bats don’t eat me alive, I used to say, “good night sisters.” Then each morning I would say, “good morning sisters.”

Our rusty trusty tour guide Lewis. He was awesome and sometimes funny. I remember the most how he told us, “The Amazon could be very unpredictable.” Lewis, you kept me safe and sound during the day, Thank you!!

Here we are on a boat riding down the river the very last time.

Here’s a video of our last boat ride.

We our boat docked we noticed our buses were parked and ready for us. I loved capturing the dirt kicking up from under the bus as we drove to the airport.

As I look back on the experience, I’m so glad I hadn’t waited for anther time to have gone. I’m glad I had the courage and strength to travel alone. I find that if we allow others or things to get in our way we end up really missing out on once in a life opportunities.
